"I've Got Sunshine On A Cloudy Day" Literally

Hi guys!

Happy ALMOST weekend, we are so so close! As much as I'm looking forward to the weekend and spending time with friends and family, it's my last weekend at home before heading back to NYC so it's bittersweet. This summer went by waaay too fast, even though it barely existed in the first place (school ended so late and RA training begins so early). I am thankful though that I was able to fit in a few small adventures before heading back to the concrete jungle.

This past Wednesday, my friend Olivia and I finally got the chance to go to Dame Farm and Orchard in Rhode Island. They have beautiful, lush sunflower fields as well and blueberry bushes. I wanted to go blueberry picking as well but once we arrived we were a little backtracked. We had left around noon to head over but as soon as we arrived the first time it was DOWN POURING! It may have possibly been one of the saddest moments of summer... but then we realized how much we love food and so we grabbed a bite before heading back over.

Once we arrived back to the farm, we grabbed a bucket and headed on over to the lil pockets of sunshine across the way. It was $2 entrance fee and we each got 12 sunflowers for $14 which wasn't too bad. We realized very quickly that the sunflowers weighed about 1,000 pounds each and needed an extra bucket. Even during a cloudy day, the sun was beating down and it was approximately 1 million degrees so it was quite the day haha!

Regardless of the heat and intense workout we were getting from lifting (probably much needed), we had the most wonderful day. Sometimes all you need to do is bask in the sun on rolling fields of a farm. Who knew that the most wonderful memories could be filled with the simplest of moments.. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm gonna miss these beauties!

Until next summer I'll be missing these sunnies!
