Sweet and Simple
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Im finally posting about this look that I wore last weekend - when the weather was much warmer of course! I wanted to pair together these pieces to create a sophisticated yet still fun look.
These culottes (more like wide leg pants on me) are from Zara and have a gingham print which is kind of hard to see. I only paid about $30 and loved them especially because of the bow! The bow does a great job of further accentuating my waistline. These pants can be dressed up for work or dressed down to just be out and about. I paired this look with my stacked strappy heels from Chinese Laundry that I got from Macy's around Christmas time. They're super comfortable and add a little bit more visual detail!
I also wanted to layer up to show how you could dress a little more conservatively for either work or just in general. I actually got this embellished sweater from Goodwill for only $10 but it was brand new and from Ann Taylor! It's so important to spend time in thrift stores - you'll be amazed at what you find and how much money you can save just by taking the time to dig through! I also really love the embellishments on the sweater because I typically love wearing statement jewelry and with this sweater, I don't have to!
As for this top, I purchased it a few months back at Express. It's a rib knit so its super comfortable and stretchy. I like that this top is a little bit different than a regular v-neck with the neck feature. I also love the color of this top because I fell like it can be worn in multiple seasons, especially if you're going out at night. I felt that the top and pants complimented each other, since the top wasn't very detailed but the bow added just enough.
I hope this look inspires you to mix up your pieces a little bit! I know that Im always pleasantly surprised when I mix business casual with going out pieces. I hope you all have the best week!
